Our focus is getting you accurate measurements as fast as possible — SJQS isn't a full estimating suite, it's a dedicated takeoff tool. Measure by trade, add subheadings where you need them, and structure everything the way that actually makes sense for your job — fully customisable, without the overhead of a platform trying to do everything at once.
Each licence is intended for one person, but we know most people work across a few devices — so we allow up to 5 activations per licence. Install it on your work machine, home machine, laptop, wherever you actually work.
Go to File → Manage licence, and you can release your key from one machine and activate it on another. If you ever get stuck, just email hello@sjqstakeoff.com and we'll sort it out.
Right now, the roadmap is focused entirely on making the 1.x line as complete and capable as it can be. If a future 2.x release brings major new functionality, it would be offered as a paid upgrade — but your existing 1.x licence keeps working exactly as it does today. You're never forced to upgrade, and nothing you already own is taken away.
Not as a set plan right now — but if you're looking to buy for multiple people or a team, get in touch and we'll figure out something that works.
Yes — no credit card, no personal details. Just download and get started.
Every time you open SJQS during your trial, it tells you how many days are left. Once the trial's up, that same notice lets you know it's ended and gives you a quick link to purchase.
Yes. Your working files save as standard PDFs, with all your measurements and annotations stored inside them — invisible if you open the file in something like Adobe Reader, but fully there when you reopen it in SJQS. If you want a visible marked-up version to share or hand over, you export that separately from the software. So anything you've measured during your trial stays exactly where you left it.
Only once, to activate your licence. After that, it runs fully offline.
No. Everything's stored locally on your machine — no account, no cloud, no telemetry.

Yes. Excel gives you a straightforward data export; PDF export is fully customisable — schedule only, plans only, or both, filtered by trade, with your choice of columns.
Yes — check the Changelog for release history. SJQS is developed and supported directly by a practicing quantity surveyor, so updates come from someone who actually uses the software day to day.
